Any tips relating to the mental aspect of a 2k? Fitness and strength wise I'm good to go for my goal split but I really struggle mentally in the middle thousand.

Me too, so much. For the first half, put yourself in a position to win. I usually do a start 15, then go up to my last PR. The third five hundred is the most difficult; you just have to pull through it as low as you can. Last 500 is the build up and spring.

You can’t be nervous, that’s the biggest part. You have to have confidence, and to have confidence you have to be realistic. Set a good goal and go for it. The worst that can happen is that you fly and die. The most important thing is that you try.
