All the things that makes crew the most unique sport.

This may not interest you, but if I get 100 followers, I’ll post a picture of me and my novice/freshman team (including my coach). That is all.

YKYRW just got 100 followers! You know what that means…team picture time!

Unfortunately, I haven’t been at practice since Tuesday, so the next time I have practice, I’ll make sure to get a picture. Thanks so much for following, guys!

Oh My Jello: I coxed today!

keepcalmandbetotallyawesome:

The women’s second eight. Do you understand? It’s the Women’s freaking Second Eight. This was my second time coxing. It was so much fun.

Coxing an experienced boat is great. It was really intimidating at first and I didn’t really want to do it (my entire boat had to push me to do it) but it was awesome. We rowed by eights and did a race piece. My back hurts but it was so worth it. (And now that I’m the official alternate cox I’ll get to do it more often!)

It reminded me why I do crew. It was just such a good vibe (and we rowed with the men’s second eight because the two second eights have the same coach). The girls were so nice to me and the guys were pretty cool too. Even though we crashed oars like twice.

So yeah, today was a good day. I’m pretty happy now. Excited to go to school tomorrow for the first time in over a week. My life is turning around.

I find it awkward to reblog myself but I just have to on this one.

Okay, so exactly 200 followers later, I give you: my team picture! Thanks so much for following and submitting; you’ve made this silly little blog into something that all rowers (and coxswains) can connect through. It’s proof of how awesome we all are (and how awesome our sport it). So thank you.

…you’ve signed something of your coach’s.
